Fifty nine patients with Wilms' Tumour who were treated at the Cancer Institute, Maharagama between 1982-1989 were analysed to find the epidemiology, presentation, histology, stage and different modalities of treatment and prognostic factors. Stage of the disease was the most important prognostic factor with five year survivals going down from 80-85 per cent in stage I II to 0 in stage V.Histology as a prognostic factor could not be assessed due to unavailability of a detailed histology in most cases. Improvements in the management to increase the survivals are discussed.
