dc.description.abstractA cross sectional study was carried out using 459 pregnant women in their second trimester during the study period, An interviewer administrated questionnaire was used to collect the information on socio-demographic data, perceived oral health status and the Pattern of utilization of health care facilities. A clinical examination was done to assess the normative needs. The study was carried out in antenatal clinics in the Divulapitiya MOH area. Subjects over 27 years of age had a significantly higher caries experience than subjects 27 years. The mean DMFT was significantly higher in those educated up to GCE/OL compared to those who had higher qualifications. Caries experience differed significantly in the different income groups . Educational and income levels were significantly ( p0.05) associated with the periodontal status of the study population, but There was no significant ( p0.05) association between periodontal status and age
