Abstract
Clinically, COVID-19 disease is variable, ranging from asymptomatic infection to multi-organ failure and death. At the onset of the pandemic in early 2020, approx. 80% of people infected with SARS CoV-2, did not develop symptoms; approx. 13% developed severe disease needing respiratory support and approx. 7% requiring intensive care, with clinical presentation including acute respiratory disease syndrome, sepsis, and multi-organ failure.
