dc.description.abstractThe prevalence of osteoporosis was 27 (95 CI 24-30). The trend analysis in advancing age groups showed that the differences of the age specific rates were highly significant (P 0.0001). The findings of survey showed that the prevalence of osteoporosis was significantly higher among postmenopausal women who were in the low income group ( 31. p 0.01), law educational group ( 26, p0.05), low social class ( 29, p0.001), unemployed housewives ( 28 .p0.05) and underweight women (BMI level less 18.5) (29, p0.05). there was also a negative association between bone mineral density and duration of the postmenopausal period.
