dc.description.abstractAt a time that the books on Chinese Buddhist history written in Sinhalese are found to be rare , this book proves the worthiness of such books to the reader public that unfold clear picture of evolutionary changes and trends on the Chinese Buddhist Traditions from the very beginning of its founding to the present. To make it more precise, it lay bares the details of Chinese Buddhist Traditions which has had its roots in India and also its own Traditions came to be existed, inherent to the China itself later on. These explanations are provided separately in two sections in the series which undoubtedly gives the readers a clear grasp of understanding about the subject. The last chapter of the book provides details on how the Buddhism came into existence in China and how it was developed and evolved to the present state with the support of the main philosophies of Confucius and Lao zi in China. The back cover is written by Prof. Oliver Abenayake.
