Study of the performance of school dental therapists in Kurunegala health region.

Abstract

This study was carried out in order to evaluate the performance of school dental therapists in the Kurunegala health region. Apart from that the study helped to identify, some problem and constraints faced by them and their attitude towards the service. One aspect of the study performance of school dental therapists was assessed in relation to time utilization for productive clinical activities. It was revealed that most of the school dental therapists in the health region were not satisfied with their present occupation owing to the reasons attributed to their career prospects. Some major problems and constraints faced by them at base school clinics and out reach clinic were identified.
