dc.description.abstract This is a research that attempts to investigate into the history of public health in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) under the British colonial government. The study is confined to the period 1858- 1926, a period during health in the country developed. Significance of this study will be that the final analysis will help the present-day public health professionals to be informed of an authentic history of public health in Ceylon
