dc.description.abstract As a student enters adolescence, real-world conditions such as income, social status, and independence begin to emerge, and education plays an important role in determining success in life. But students around the world can identify situations where they are unable to complete their studies at their own discretion due to external circumstances. e impact of the new corona virus epidemic (Covid-19 epidemic) on student education is signi cant. In this situation, various procedures are followed in many countries of the world as well as in Sri Lanka for the continuation of education. Continuing education using methods such as online education, technology and social media is a priority here. e changes in education in Sri Lanka with the Covid-19 epidemic have had both positive and negative e ects on school and university students. e main objective of this study was to identify the problems faced by school and university students in Sri Lanka with the changes that have taken place in the eld of education and another objective of this study is to study the positive and negative e ects of educational changes on students. Both primary and secondary data were used for this purpose and the primary data were obtained through interviews conducted primarily with the participation of school and university students. Also, a literary study identi ed the problems and implications of the epidemic in the eld of education in Sri Lanka as well as globally. Data analysis was performed using problem tree analysis and SWOT analysis methods. e main problems faced by the students with the trend towards online educational methods are the lack of technical equipment and strong Internet connection, lack of telephone and Internet signals, loss of access to libraries and problems in pursuing professional and research activities. However, despite such problems, there were positive aspects such as saving time, reducing the cost of education and courses, and being able to watch lectures again and again. us, it seems that students have inherited many positive bene ts even though they have experienced negative problems by resorting to online education. is study was conducted to identify the problems faced by the students as learners with the changes taking place in the eld of education and will help to protect the future educational rights of the student en_US
