dc.description.abstract The study was carried out during Sept-Oct.1987 regarding acceptors of depo-provera in the MOH area homagama,registered during a period of 1st Jan.1985 to 31st Dec.1986.Only about a one-third of acceptors definitely desired additional children.More than 62 per cent had used depoprovera as a non-terminal method. Most of the acceptors had selected depoprovera as the contraceptive method because of convenience (70.4 per cent). only 21 had previously practiced other modern methods of contraception.The most commonly used previous method was the oral contraceptive (50 per cent).
