Abstract: This study is intended to measure the prevalence of gingivitis in pregnant women in Nugegoda MOH area. To evaluate knowledge, attitude and behaviors of pregnant women with regard to oral health in the same area. All the subjects examined were found to have gingival inflammation. The value of GI increased from the third month of gestation up to the seventh month and declined to the level observed in the third month towards the end of pregnancy. The rate of change that has been observed during the course of pregnancy was found to be the highest in the molar region. The pregnant mothers showed satisfactory knowledge on dental health and were found to be motivated. This group could further be utilized for dental health education of their immediate families and the community
