Abstract: This research is a cross sectional data and uses the correlation and regression models to publicly analyze available data for a sample of 69 firms quoted in the Nigerian Stock Exchange for one fiscal year. Several diagnostic tests have been used to justify the validity of the results. The empirical investigations reveal that board ownership and firm leverage have significant impact on performance. From a developing economy, this research paper is original that reveals the effect of board members participation on firm performance.
