Abstract: Purpose: The aim of this review was to provide the preventive strategies for suicide in Asian countries with the understanding the current status of suicide in Asian countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Methodology: We searched a systematic review and online literature from journal articles and other documents about suicide. Results: Sri Lanka has one of the highest suicide rates in the world and Vietnam has the lowest estimated prevalence, followed by China, Korea and Japan have low to medium rates. Some suicide-preventive strategies are used in the Asian countries but they are not popular. There are many training programe about mental health problems for community. Conclusion: Suicide intervention programs in Asia are limited because they are depended the sociocultural situations and economic transitions in the region so we need to coordinate with national suicide prevention organization to prevent the most effectivily suicide.
